Ariel Fenster is a prominent science promoter and presenter, recognized for his extensive outreach efforts over three decades, during which he has delivered over 800 public presentations in both English and French across North America and internationally. He frequently appears on television and radio to discuss topics related to health, environmental issues, and technology, and has created numerous science segments for children's television. His contributions to science education and popularization have earned him several accolades, including the inaugural McNeil Medal for the Public Awareness of Science from the Royal Society of Canada in 1992 and the Michael Smith Award for the Promotion of Science in Canada from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada in 2005
Tomlinson Chair in Science Education at McGill University
David N. Harpp is the Macdonald Professor of Chemistry and holds the Tomlinson Chair in Science Education at McGill University. His research interests include organosulfur and selenium molecules, teaching innovations, and academic integrity issues, with over 230 published research articles, including more than 20 focused on teaching. Harpp has delivered nearly 600 presentations at various conferences and institutions, earning numerous awards for his contributions to research and education, such as the inaugural American Chemical Society’s Edward Leete Award for Excellence in Teaching and Research (1995) and the Lifetime Achievement Award for Leadership in Learning at McGill University (2010). He has also received two honorary doctorate degrees from Acadia University (2000) and the University of Guelph (2012).
