Philippe Silberzahn is a distinguished professor at emlyon Business School and research associate at École Polytechnique, where he has established himself as a leading authority on managing uncertainty and innovation in business. His academic credentials include a PhD from École Polytechnique, an MBA from London Business School, and a DEA from the University of Paris I - Sorbonne. With over twenty years of entrepreneurial experience in the technology sector, including co-founding Digital Airways and leading several tech companies, he brings practical insights to his theoretical work. His latest book "Welcome to Uncertainty! Surviving and Thriving in a World of Surprises" addresses the challenges of decision-making in an unpredictable business environment. At emlyon, he leads the Introduction to Business Creation course and co-directs the IDEA Program focusing on Innovation, Design Thinking, Entrepreneurship, and Art. His research specifically examines how organizations handle radical uncertainty, strategic surprises ("black swans"), and complex problems, while his consulting work helps leadership teams of large organizations navigate market disruptions.
