Leading Antenna Systems Expert and Dean of Electrical Engineering
Prof. Dr. Ir. Bart Smolders is a distinguished academic and industry expert who earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in 1994. Throughout his career, he has built extensive expertise in smart antenna systems while working with prominent organizations including TNO, THALES ASTRON, and NXP semiconductors. Since joining TU/e as a full professor in 2010, he has been leading the Electromagnetics Group, focusing on smart antenna systems and their applications. His current research portfolio includes several major projects centered on integrated antenna systems for 5G/6G wireless communications.
