About Aligarh Muslim University

Established in 1920, Aligarh Muslim University evolved from the Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College founded by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan in 1875. Located on a 467.6-hectare campus in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, it is one of India's premier central universities. The university offers more than 300 courses across 13 faculties, including Agricultural Sciences, Arts, Commerce, Engineering & Technology, Law, Life Sciences, Medicine, and Management. AMU operates three off-campus centers in Malappuram (Kerala), Murshidabad (West Bengal), and Kishanganj (Bihar).

The Training and Placement Office at AMU provides comprehensive career support services through its dedicated cell established in March 2012. The office facilitates campus recruitment, organizes career development workshops, and manages corporate connections for students across all disciplines. It offers personalized guidance for career planning, skill development, and job opportunities through dedicated faculty members. The placement cell actively organizes campus recruitment drives, personality development sessions, mock interviews, and industry interaction programs. Students receive training in soft skills, analytical abilities, and interview techniques. The university maintains separate department-wise placement cells, such as specific cells for MBA and engineering placements, ensuring specialized attention to different career paths.
